Mondrian




Activity 1: Kick Start 

Learn 

Learn how to make Mondrian Art using Google sheets.

 Create

  • Create Mondrian Art: Make a copy of the Google Sheet
  • Click the Directions tab in the spreadsheet to read the instructions.
  • Click the Create tab in the spreadsheet to create and colour your art.
  • Take a screenshot of your Art to share on your blog
Share 
  • Upload the screenshot of your Art to your blog.
  • Remember to also describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging.










 Activity 2: Step It Up 

Learn 

Learn how to make Mondrian Art using Google sheets.

 Create

  • Create Mondrian Art: Make a copy of the Google Sheet
  • Click the Directions tab in the spreadsheet to read the instructions.
  • Click the Create tab in the spreadsheet to create and colour your art.
  • Area: Find the area in square units for each of the colours used and record on the Create tab in the spreadsheet
  • Fractions: Find the fraction that each colour represents and simplify to the lowest form. Record on the Create tab in the spreadsheet
  • Take a screenshot of your Art and your Maths to share on your blog.

  • Upload the screenshot of your Art and your Maths to your blog
  • Remember to describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging?

      1. Kia ora Finau - you do not have to use the Google sheets template if you would prefer to create your own Mondrian-inspired artwork using Google Draw that would be awesome. Remember to also describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging about this activity in your post.

      2. Kia ora Finau, I agree with Renee you can definitely use Google Draw. One advantage of using sheets is that the cells make it easy to create and fill shapes that are the same size. If you are using draw consider using ctrl D to duplicate your shapes so they are the same size.

        Look forward to seeing what you create and how you used Draw for this activity.
