DeleteThe words to Auld Lang Syne are attributed to Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1788, so yes it is a very old song!
It is written in the Scots language. My father is from Scotland and my Grandparents would always sing this on New Year's Eve so it is a familiar tune.
The words are about remembering good times with friends and family in the past.
