I can't wait for this task but for the step it up task, I was wondering what is the key for the ceasar cipher? I can't figure out what the letter's might spell without knowing how many times the Alphabet has been shifted.
Kia ora Aye, the graphic on slide 4 should be helpful. Each letter in the alphabet is represented. Donna created this clue so I would need to decipher the clue too. I would say that the first letter in the first word on slide 5 is a T. Would you agree with me? Mrs Grant
Sorry- I still don't really understand Mrs Grant! In the video it says that as long as you know the amount of times the alphabet has been shifted for the ceasar cipher then you can decrypt it but it hasn't given me a number! Sorry if you can't understand what i'm trying to say!
Kia ora Finau for the kick start activity share your Google Draw cipher clue and describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging. For the step it up activity share your Screencastify and describe what you learnt, what was fun and what was challenging.
The slide deck is there to help you learn. You could link to this blog post from your post if you want. We are really interested in seeing you share what you are creating and your writing on your blog. Hope that helps, Mrs Grant
That's OK Aye, I have had another look and I understand. You are right, it doesn't say how many shifts. I wonder if that is part of the challenge too. I used some trial and error and think that it is 23 shifts. Although I also wonder if there are a couple of letters incorrect in the original clue on slide 7. Try 23 shifts and let me know what you discover.
Update for you Aye, I have updated the slide however if you have made a copy it will not be updated. This is what I think slide 7 should be, before the 23 shifts.
I've just finished the Kick start Task. I really enjoyed and actually got a hang of the Pigpen Cipher coding very fast. Don't worry, The Step it up task will be posted up still. THank's for this great task.

Hi Mrs Grant and the SLJ Team!
DeleteFor the kick start do we have to post the slideshow or just the clue for our favourite beach? Same goes for the step up.
